EQAsia offer reference and confirmatory testing services to laboratories within network, free of charge.
The services allow the laboratories to refer multidrug-resistant isolates for confirmation and further investigation to unravel specific resistance mechanisms by using genotypic sequencing methods.
This voluntary activity is of utmost importance for epidemiological surveillance, quality assurance and quality control of routine microbiological diagnostics.
Laboratories from the EQAsia network have the possibility to send isolates of interest to DTU at any time throughout the duration of the programme.
Making use of the reference and confirmatory testing services improves the laboratories’ capability to generate reliable data for AMR surveillance and to curb AMR locally.
Laboratories are also able to publish their data in peer-reviewed journals at a later stage.
